Holdout's Intensity

He's the last to speak, the first to notice, and once he's marked something as his, God help anyone who touches it. Holdout has ridden rear guard for the Deadwood Hangmen MC for years — patient, quiet, and lethal at range. The only thing that's ever broken through his silence is a woman standing in the dark between a stolen horse and the men trying to load it, armed with nothing but a lead rope and a fury that won't quit. Polly Hartmann doesn't need a biker. She's spent eight years running a rescue ranch outside Deadwood, gentling horses nobody else can touch. Her animals are her life, and she's been fighting a livestock theft ring alone because the brand inspector who's supposed to help is the one running the operation. Then the crew stops just stealing — and starts coming for her. A gate opened onto a highway. A horse taken as a message. A corrupt inspector threatening to bury her. Polly can calm a thousand-pound stallion, but she can't stop an organized crew with bolt cutters and a county man in their pocket. She doesn't need saving. She needs someone who understands her fight is worth joining. But the closer Holdout gets — to her ranch, to her war, to the woman whose stillness matches his own — the harder it becomes to keep his distance. Because the quiet man who watches everything has finally found the one thing he can't look away from. She's his. The herd, the ground, the woman. And the men who touched what's his are about to learn what patience looks like when it runs out. HOLDOUT'S INTENSITY is book 6 in the Deadwood Hangmen MC series. No cliffhanger. HEA guaranteed.
