In Inventing Baseball Heroes, Amber Roessner examines "e;herocrafting"e; in sports journalism through an incisive analysis of the work surrounding two of baseball's most enduring personalities -- Detroit Tigers outfielder Ty Cobb and New York Giants pitcher Christy Mathewson.
