What She Saw

When Luke Weber walks into the bar where Echo Carson has been working, and hiding in plain sight, for the last year, she wishes it were the setup to a bad joke.  In reality, it means her tentatively safe little world is about to collapse.Trouble always follows Luke...bad trouble.Luke wants Echo back and will do anything to get to her, including kidnapping her sister.  Echo realizes that to escape the danger Luke represents once and for all, she must chase it.  Because he won't stop until he gets what he wants from her…even if it's her. When Brick Holmes sees a damsel in distress, even though he and his brother, Parker, are about to begin working a new case, he has no choice but to step in, pretending to be Echo's girlfriend just to get a guy out of the bar.  He recognizes Echo from a couple of weeks earlier, and knows something is off.That one move, Brick pretending to be Echo's boyfriend, opens a floodgate of cat-and-mouse games, kidnapping, and near-death experiences that somehow relate to their new case, bringing Brick and Echo close together.  Closer than he even realizes.All because of what she saw.
