A Look Back in Time Volume III

A Look Back in Time Vol. III finds a military kid living on post at Ft. Sill, while attending Lawton High School in Lawton, Oklahoma. Bernard has promised his dad he will pursue a career as an officer in the Army. That promise weighs heavily on his mind. Bernard knows he will have to excel in his classes to realize his dreams of attending college. If he is successful, he will be the first in his family to do so. The stakes are high, almost as high as the hurdles that are sure to get in his way.

Will Bernard be accepted by the local teens who attend the recently integrated high school? Can Bernard excel at school while working at a challenging job at the restaurant on post? Will Bernard succeed at integrating the morning math table? Will he pay dearly for contradicting a teacher in his American History class? Will Bernard find sports is an equalizer or will his contributions be swept to the side? Will he find an ally in his new job and avoid being fired? Will Bernard disappoint his dad if he can't keep his promise?
