Dave Stevens is determined to move forward in his life as a recovering alcoholic.

He has found happiness with Kristi Freeman, who was the catalyst for him to stop drinking. As he moves forward in his relationship, he desperately wants to be the man he feels Kristi deserves.

One night, he discovers a part of his past that he kept hidden in his closet. He realizes he can't truly move forward unless he goes back. He must revisit a decision made in his youth that has impacted him his entire adult life.

However, he recognizes that letting go is merely pulling off the Band-Aid. It's raw and immediate. The sting of pulling off the Band-Aid is quick, but it vanishes. It's only the beginning step. It's when you look at the scar and the reasons you have that scar that heals you.

Once he heals himself from the pain of that choice, he can find more happiness and success than he ever had.
