In 2040, Commander Allen Davis leads the UES Excalibur-Earth's first true starship-on a historic mission carrying representatives from around the world. When its experimental drive pushes the ship beyond the light barrier, Excalibur disappears into a dark void and emerges far from home.
Waiting there are the Jobash, members of an advanced interplanetary coalition who claim they have watched and protected Earth for generations. They offer humanity new technology, new worlds, and a place among the stars. But their offer comes with a warning: the ruthless Kajung are preparing for war, and Earth may already be part of the conflict.
As Allen struggles to protect his passengers and decide whom to trust, impossible messages begin arriving from people believed dead.
