An AI-native business is not an existing business plus AI. Its unit economics, its moats, its pricing, and often its product are structurally different. Incumbents that bolt AI onto an unchanged model surrender the margin pool to someone who rebuilt for this.
AI-Native Business Models is the decision framework for the leadership team that owns the strategic bet: CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, CFO, board. It sits one altitude above the transformation and security playbooks and answers the question those books pointed at but did not fully take on: what does the company become when AI is native rather than a feature?
CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Transformation Officer, CFO, and board members. Senior strategy leaders, transformation officers, and management consultants advising at this altitude. Written so a CEO and a CFO can read the same chapter and walk out aligned. Not the primary reader: engineers and ML researchers, who are better served by earlier books in the series.
This is Book Four of The AI Black Book - a principle-first reference series for enterprise leaders. Book One (Enterprise AI Agents) installs the architectural vocabulary. Book Two (The AI Transformation Playbook) moves programs out of pilot purgatory. Book Three (AI Security for the Enterprise) clears the security gate. Book Four takes the next step: the business model itself.
Principle-first. Vendor-free. Written to survive two model generations.
Mehul Jain is an AI practitioner and founder who helps enterprises move AI from strategy to production. His work spans the full arc of The AI Black Book: scoping which tasks warrant AI, designing the architecture, operating it once deployed, building the organisational program that sustains it, and framing the business-model reinvention the board ultimately has to approve.
Across two decades of consulting and founding work, he has advised large enterprise clients across financial services, insurance, consumer goods, and telecommunications on both sides of the Atlantic and across Asia-Pacific.
He currently runs three companies: Finigami, his AI consulting practice; Geology, a generative engine optimisation product that helps brands appear in AI-powered search; and Litmus Check, an AI-first platform for data extraction and quality assurance automation.
He holds a degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay and an MBA from INSEAD with an exchange at Wharton. His first book, Introduction to Gen AI for Curious Developers, was published in 2024 and sells in five countries.
