Airships And Alley Cats

Mystery, moonlight and magic: a sweet romance set on a flying island in an alternate portrayal of America's 1920s.

Journalism major Mabel Watson is a fastidious student and responsible daughter who has spent her entire life carving out a future she can be proud of. There's just one problem: Mabel has fallen in love, and the man she's fallen for is none other than renowned smuggler and airship captain Pierce Robinson.

Pierce Robinson is looking for ways to clean up his life and procure a docking permit on Port Franconia, but he's caused enough trouble as a smuggler in the past to make the officials hesitate. He has no time for romance, no drive for sentiment, and no desire to lay himself emotionally bare before anyone who could use his secrets against him.

When Mabel learns that Pierce needs a reference for his permit, she creates a disguise and meets with him over a series of encounters. Soon she starts to forget herself and enter into a more personal relationship with the captain.

When Mabel's mask is torn off and her identity is exposed, Pierce is left to confront the young college girl who had really been in love with him the whole time, and Mabel must decide what life she wants to pursue.
