All the Ways the Earth Remembers Us is a book of poems that moves like weather and memory-through cold and thaw, through hospital corridors at 2 a.m., through vineyards, fog, deserts, and the quiet rooms where grief changes shape. Arranged in four sections-Seasons, People, Places, and Coda-the collection maps a life by its atmospheres: northern Minnesota's iron air, Vermont's October hush, San Francisco's fog and neon, the Central Valley's dust and labor, and the desert's long listening. These poems hold the tactile world close: the crack of frozen aspens, the taste of salt and grit, the soft insistence of monitors, the way a bridge disappears into fog. They also face what we try not to name-war's residue, history's shadows, the private arithmetic of fear, the final conversations we carry like stones. Yet awe keeps arriving: meteors over a field, aurora unspooling, the Orion Nebula's star-nursery turning the night into a question. At its heart, this book believes the earth keeps a record-of footsteps, breath, work, and love-and that poetry is one way we learn to listen.
