The unfamiliar Arabic script, written from right to left, initially creates a sense of distance for those of us accustomed to Latin scripts like English.
Yet, Muslims constitute the second-largest religious group after Christians, and the scriptures written in Arabic are recited five times daily by Muslims across the globe. In an era where English has swept across the planet thanks to the spread of the Internet, we need to gain a deeper understanding of the Arab world. A people's way of thinking is reflected in their language; learning Arabic fosters a connection with Muslims worldwide, and understanding others serves as a cornerstone of peace.
This work presents Arabic alongside Latin script in an effort to bridge the gap created by the writing system. Languages should not be discussed merely in terms of their specific grammatical terminologies but should be understood through universal structures based on the essence of language itself. If the essence of language lies in the expression of cognition, then every sentence in any language must be grounded on a structure of space-time cognition. This work intends to verify that universal sentence structure through an analysis of Arabic.
