Arguments with Myself at 17

Living in the 70s was a time of change for me. Bellbottoms were on the way out, but thankfully miniskirts stayed. At 15 I was rebellious and didn't want to listen to authority, so I was placed in a home for juvenile delinquency prevention. At 17 I started the biggest change in my life.
My mother was dying and I went to visit her in the hospital. A pastor was there and he shared what he had done for my mother. He told my mom how to get to Heaven. That I would see her again in the future. Without elaborating he left! He never shared with me how my mom was going to Heaven!
This started me on my spiritual journey on how to get to Heaven. At the lowest point in my teenage life God started sending Christians across my path. I was astounded at how many I encountered and they never spoke to me about the key to eternal life which is Jesus Christ.
Eventually I was saved, then the real battle for my young, impressionable mind started. I was conflicted as the Holy Spirit battled raging teen hormones in my struggle to seek God's will for my life.
The group home I lived in 24/7 constantly fought my new Christian babe walk, since half the residents were teenage girls. It was a confusing time. Then God sent three wonderful women of God into my life. They were all 21, strong in the principles of the Bible, and took me under their wings. I still think of them as babes in Christ, and they were! This is my story as a Christian teen in the age of "love the one your with" revolution combined with the "Jesus Movement" on college campuses.
