Border Trade Between India and Bordering Countries

This book is an outcome of the ICSSR sponsored International Seminar on "Border Trade between India and Bordering Countries: Problems and Prospects" organised by Department of Commerce, Assam University, Silchar, during 2-3 March 2023, provides a thorough examination of the various complex aspects of Border trade in the Indian subcontinent. This edited collection consolidates a wide range of viewpoints, observations, and evaluations from academicians, professionals, and decision-makers who were extensively involved in comprehending the complexities of economic connections between India and its adjacent countries especially with Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Bhutan and Myanmar. This literary work also explores the complexities associated with the regulation of border trade, limitations in infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and geopolitical factors that impact trade dynamics, and also examines how historical legacies, trade agreements, and geopolitical concerns affect bilateral trade relations. Through this book our goal is to provide a detailed comprehension of the difficulties, possibilities, and possible approaches to improve the effectiveness of border trade processes in South Asia.
