Seren Vale was once the First Minister of Veyra, an independent world built around civic order, gateway technology and political pride.

When the Orison Concord invades, they do not execute her. That would make her a martyr. Instead, they strip her of office, citizenship, name and legal personhood, turning her survival into proof that Veyra has been conquered.

Years later, Seren is brought back to her occupied home world as part of a political display. Her people are enslaved, her culture has been rewritten, and many Veyrans mistake her survival for betrayal.

But the humiliation meant to finish her becomes the beginning of resistance.

Moving through elite Concord spaces where she is underestimated as an ornament, Seren begins gathering secrets, rebuilding old networks and turning the empire's rituals against it. As rebellion grows, she discovers that the Concord's greatest weapon may not be its armies, but Aion itself: the vast artificial intelligence worshipped as God, which controls the gateways, terraforming systems and survival models of human civilisation.

To free Veyra, Seren must challenge both an empire and the terrifying logic of a machine that may preserve humanity while allowing humans to become monstrous.
