Anthony Burgess (1917-1993) was a British novelist, critic and composer. He was also a librettist, poet, playwright, screenwriter, journalist, essayist, travel writer, broadcaster, translator, and educationalist.Although he was not published until well into middle age, Burgess had amassed more than sixty published books to his credit by the time of his death.
