GPS campaign mode observations (2004-2007) in the Indo-Myanmar arc region along with the available results of GPS measurements analysis from permanent sites indicate that out of predominantly northward relative motion of about 4 cm/year between India and Sunda, Indo-Myanmar arc accommodates about 2 cm/year. The motion in the Indo-Myanmar arc is predominantly dextral with sites located east of Imphal valley moving faster than those in the west. The change in velocity in eastern and western regions occurs at the boundary of locally known fault Churachandpur Mao Thrust (CMT) . It appears that the two blocks are demarcated by CMT and this fault dips towards east and marks the boundary between India and Myanmar plate.
