The orphan Kwackie Cwir leaves his home of loch Bathel in search of peace. He soon befriends the crabbit Haggis-lad Cynd-Ribeye - apparently another orphan.
The crabbit, humorous Cynd invites Cwir unto the Mountain of Bathel, home to a large clan of Haggises.
The Haggis Chieftain Bosm welcomes the Kwackie Cwir with warm hospitality. The curious Cwir, however, begins to suspect that the Haggises are not all as they seem. Not even Cynd. Cwir is imperilled.
Haggis Cynd, meanwhile, is upon his own adventure of discovery. His suspicious enquiries soon kindle the wrath of Bosm.
A dark-comedic Trial by Haggis ensues. What shall become of young Kwackie Cwir and his Haggis friend Cynd?
