The author, Dr. theol. Lothar Gassmann, Pforzheim, is a preacher, evangelist, and author of many books on the Christian faith and current issues. He is an employee of the Christian Community Service (CGD), chairman of the Lukas Scripture Mission, and editor of the magazine "Der schmale Weg. Orientierung im Zeitgeschehen" (The Narrow Way: Orientation in Current Events).

For four decades, Dr. Lothar Gassmann has interpreted and explained entire books of the Bible or parts thereof in his sermons. The result of this rich work is presented in this series of commentaries, with a total of 32 volumes planned (12 on the Old Testament, 20 on the New Testament).
