Discovering Brady

This new children's book series is more than just a story-it's a movement to show the power of resilience, strength, and self-love.

Inspired by my incredible 10-year-old nephew, Jakobe, who was diagnosed with autism at just 2 years old, Discovering Brady was created to shine a light on what truly matters: compassion, confidence, and embracing our differences.

Each book will highlight a different challenge a child may face, which will be then followed by an incredibly inspiring storyline that shows their resilience through overcoming these obstacles.

Brady is a young boy who moves to the United States in search of a better life. However, adjusting to a new country is difficult, and his classmates don't make it any easier. Because of his disability, he becomes a target for bullying, making school feel like an impossible challenge. At first, Brady tries to ignore the taunts, hoping they will stop, but they only get worse.

One day, while in the library, Brady felt inspired to find his voice. Soon after, instead of hiding, he decides to confront the bullies-not with anger, but with courage and kindness. His bravery not only changes how others see him but also teaches his classmates an important lesson about acceptance and respect. By the end of the story, Brady realizes that his differences are his strengths, and he inspires those around him to be better.

Tips for Dealing with Bullying in School

If you or someone you know is experiencing bullying, here are some important steps to take:

1. Tell a Trusted Adult - Whether it's a teacher, school counselor, or parent, speaking up is the first step in stopping bullying.

2. Stay Confident - Bullies often target those they think are vulnerable. Standing tall, making eye contact, and speaking firmly can help you feel more in control.

3. Find Supportive Friends - Surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you. Having friends by your side makes a big difference.

4. Keep a Record - If bullying continues, write down the incidents, including dates, times, and what happened. This can help when reporting it to school officials.

5. Use Your Voice - If it feels safe, calmly tell the bully that their behavior is not okay. Sometimes, letting them know their words and actions are hurtful can make them stop.

6. Practice Self-Care - Dealing with bullying is stressful. Engage in activities that make you happy, whether it's drawing, reading, playing sports, or talking to a friend.

7. Remember: It's Not Your Fault - No one deserves to be bullied. The way people treat you does not define your worth.

Brady's journey reminds us that no matter how hard things may seem, we are never alone. There is always help, and we all have the power to rise above.
