DREAM BIG

There is something profoundly dangerous about a big dream. Not dangerous in the way a knife or a flame is dangerous, but dangerous in the way that it challenges everything you have settled for, every compromise you have made, every time you told yourself that this is just the way things are. A big dream does not leave you comfortable. It will not let you sleep the same way again.
I want to tell you something before you go any further in this book. This is not a collection of motivational quotes wrapped in pretty words. This is a confrontation. It is an invitation to step into the most uncomfortable, most exhilarating, most God-ordained journey a human being can take, which is the journey of dreaming a dream so large that it can only be explained by God.
Every single person who has ever done something remarkable started in the same place you are right now. They sat with a thought, an idea, a longing that felt bigger than their current reality. Some of them were poor. Some had no education. Some had been told their entire lives that people like them do not succeed. And yet they dared.
Abraham dared to believe God for a son when his body was as good as dead. Joseph held on to a dream even from the pit and from the prison. David, a shepherd boy with a sling and five smooth stones, ran toward a giant that made armies tremble. Mary said yes to carrying the Son of God when she was an unmarried teenage girl in a world that would have stoned her for it.
These were not perfect people. They were ordinary people who served an extraordinary God and dared to dream extraordinarily.
