Maya Rao was looking forward to a quiet spring at The Resting Place. The winter frost had melted, the tourists were returning, and she finally had the roof fixed. Life was good.

Then a package arrived with no return address.

Inside was a beautiful, antique porcelain teapot. It seemed like a lovely gift-until Maya brewed a cup of Earl Grey and the steam formed the shape of a sinking ship. Suddenly, her bookstore is filling with phantom seawater, her cat is stranded on top of a bookshelf, and a furious ghost captain has stormed in demanding a refund for a compass he bought in 1852.
