Theo Bennett is pretty sure he's cursed.

Lamps launch themselves at him. Toasters become aggressive. Shopping carts follow him through parking lots. And whenever Theo thinks about the worst thing that could happen, the universe seems determined to prove him right.

Then Mina Okafor moves into the apartment across the hall.

Around Mina, everything stops.

Obviously, she suppresses the curse.

This is a perfectly reasonable explanation for why Theo keeps inventing excuses to be around her. Grocery shopping. Coffee. Emergency laundry. A suspicious vacuum cleaner. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Mina makes him feel safer than anyone ever has.

Unfortunately, Mina's charming ex notices something strange about Theo too.

And unlike Theo, Colin is very interested in finding out exactly what makes the accidents happen.

Soon Theo's worst thoughts are becoming more specific, more violent, and increasingly centred on the woman he's falling in love with.

To keep Mina safe, Theo will have to figure out what his "curse" really is, and learn that imagining the worst doesn't mean the worst has to happen.
