Originally published in 1936, this detailed textbook is a companion to the 1931 publication An Elementary Treatise on Actuarial Mathematics and is intended to provide further examples for learning, practice and revision; 'the inclusion of additional examples in the book as it stood was impracticable, and it appeared that the difficulty could only be overcome by the publication of a supplement to the book'.
