Finding Your True North

This book was not written from a mountaintop. It was written from the valley, in the dark, on mornings when the only thing I could do was pick up a pen and tell the truth.

What you are about to read began as a private practice - daily devotional journaling through the letters of Paul, the Proverbs, and the writings of Romans across multiple months. The prompts were structured, but the answers were raw. I wrote them for nobody. I wrote them for survival.

Over time, something happened. The words stopped being desperate and started becoming declarative. The questions stopped feeling like accusations and started feeling like invitations. I began to realize that what I was writing was not a journal - it was a map. Not a finished map, but a working one, drawn by a man learning to walk again.

I have kept my voice exactly as it emerged on those pages. You will find me wrestling, celebrating, grieving, laughing, and reaching - sometimes all in the same paragraph. That is not a literary style. That is the truth of how growth actually works.

The thinkers I return to most - Jordan Peterson, Viktor Frankl, C.S. Lewis, Dostoevsky, Solzhenitsyn, Marcus Aurelius - are not Christian writers in every case, but they are all truth-tellers. I have found that truth, wherever it lives, points toward the same north star. I make no apology for drawing from a wide well.

Above all, this is a book about one thing: the choice to aim upward when everything in your circumstances points down. I believe that choice - made once, then again, then again - is the engine of a life worth living.

My prayer is simple: that somewhere in these pages, you find the word you needed. That you hear someone say what you already knew but were afraid to claim. That you close this book and take one step higher than where you were when you opened it.
