Forgiveness

History has always fascinated Dr. Jessica Young. Specifically, Egyptian history. She's an expert in her field, a professor of Egyptology and an active researcher. When her colleague goes missing without a word, interrupting their studies, she does what any good friend would do and files a report with the police. How could she know that singular act would lead her back to her own complicated history and the one man she never thought she'd ever see again? Maybe she should just leave the past where it belongs. Maybe she should just leave that door closed. Or maybe the man she gave her heart to once upon a time might be able to do more than just find her missing friend.

Malcolm Young has dedicated his life to protecting the vulnerable. Growing up in violence and upheaval, he saw firsthand how horrible the legal system is. That's why he became a private investigator in the first place. He wanted to help people failed by that rigged system. Arc Industries simply grew from there. Now he's able to help and protect in more ways than he ever dreamed possible. He's dedicated his entire life to it, at the expense of having a life. But that particular boat sailed long ago, and he's made his peace with it. When a ghost from his past walks through the front door asking for his help, he has no idea the lengths he'll go to make things right, to solve her case, and ultimately gain her . . . forgiveness.
