The drought had profoundly shaped nomadic life in Sahara, but the failure of leadership turned out to be much worse and forced displacement is a window to the unknown in the context of unpredictability. From Mauritanian Sahara to the Pathways of New York is a story of a displaced modern nomad, aspiring to freedom in a constantly globalized world. Hamed learned that the concept of cultural integration is more complex than some people may think; a refugee is not only in search of shelter but also peace of mind. This complexity is evident through the delineation between comfort and distress; you can easily treat a refugee from a bleeding physical wound, but it is more difficult to treat their soul wounds.
