A rash of gallery store burglaries bothered the attentive Chief Detective Alberto Jose Cargile. This was equally bad timing during the tourist season. The largest theft, The Martyr Passes, a 4x6 foot oil painting was stolen hoisted through the skylight from the Estrella Gallery on Camino la Surrender in Trissa.
Three art dealers arrived in Trissa searching for local western American themed art to purchase and send to their galleries in England, Australia, and Argentina. Alberto saw them as potential suspects and formed a flight risk and interrogation process but with little success.
Are they the only suspects? Two of the galleries were established decades ago. But Galleria Estrella was recently opened by a Denver financial executive who recently retired and moved to Trissa. His gallery was the home of The Martyr Passes. Could he be a suspect?
To make his job more challenging Alberto's boss, Police Chief Aquino, is vying for the Mayor's position. Disliking politics like the plague Alberto and his detectives are staying clear from political shenanigans as their search continues. What else can be thrown at Alberto except the love-of-his-life, Samantha, who pines to be married and in a church!
