German colonialism in Africa, although often overshadowed by other colonial powers such as France or the United Kingdom, has left an indelible mark on African societies and collective memories. While the repercussions of this colonial period are still visible and palpable in contemporary relations between Germany and African countries, it remains a subject of study that is often marginalized-or even overlooked-in historical and memory-related debates.
