Griggs Town

Two brothers who have never been beyond their small town of Colby Valley are sick of living in the old house on their farm, stuffed with too many irritating family members. Tired of being broke without a dollar to their name and no jobs on the horizon, brothers Greenway and Cecil set their sights on leaving town for good, against their family's wishes. Their dream is Griggs Town, a place they've read about that sounds like the most desirable place in the world-beautiful land, hospitable people, and most importantly, jobs.

When a chance conversation with their local newspaper man elicits a too-good-to-be true job opportunity for the pair, the brothers begin their extraordinary journey to Griggs Town in eastern Kentucky, with only the clothes on their back and old feed bags carrying a few simple belongings and a gobsmacking $40 gifted to them. After an encounter on the road with an unsavory character who tricks them out of their money and food, they are desperate to get to their new jobs at the silver mine to start their new lives.  

In Griggs Town, Greenway and Cecil feel like the luckiest guys in the world. With good-paying jobs, a fancy place to stay, and even two beautiful love interests, Cass and Janie, what could possibly go wrong? But soon an incredible turn of events has the boys on the run from the law. Their crime? Murder. With a million-dollar bounty on their heads, the brothers must use their wits to evade the enormous search for them, while trying to clear their names...before it's too late.

Full of twists and turns and a plethora of memorable characters, Griggs Town is a coming-of-age story, equal parts nostalgic and contemporary, that masterfully captures the adolescent spirit for adventure and shedding one's childhood, only to find that the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
