Growing with Easter Hymns

I don't talk about my music books with my students very often. Occasionally, someone will ask about what I write or how the process works, but the question I hear most is much simpler: "Is there anything that I can play?"

For a long time, my answer was, "No."

There are plenty of beginner piano books out there, and I used many of them when I was learning. Some were helpful, but most didn't last very long before I moved on. I wanted to create something different, something that wouldn't be outgrown so quickly, something a student could come back to and continue growing with.

That's where this book begins.

Inside, you will find five Easter hymns, each arranged in five progressive levels. You may start with a simple melody in one hand, but with each level, the music builds-adding harmony, movement, and fullness-until you can play a complete arrangement. Instead of leaving a piece behind, you develop it as your skills improve.

So now, when students ask, "Is there anything that I can play?" I can finally give a different answer:

"Yes. And you can grow with this book, too."
