I Am Serena

I Am Serena is an unflinchingly honest memoir that shares with survivors, seekers, and healers how she integrated more than 300 unique personalities, healing from dissociative identity disorder, PTSD, depression, and panic attacks. 

Despite working with doctors and therapists for more than 10 years, the aftereffects of childhood abuse continued to plague her. Serena felt hopeless; she didn't know where to turn. That's when she met the woman who would change her life by teaching Serena how to connect to her soul through breath. This connection marked the beginning of her authentic healing journey. 

The commitment to Serena's integration and healing is the focus of this book, which narrates real, lived experiences and practical techniques from her counseling sessions, making her memoir a tool rather than just a testimony. It offers insights into how Serena moved from self-hatred and judgment, guilt and shame, to authentic compassion and self-love, and, in turn, discovered freedom. Through the specific breath practice she learned, Serena finally came into her body, anchoring in it and, for the first time, feeling real safety. She transformed from a state of victim consciousness to empowerment, from the belief that there was something inherently wrong with her to discovering who she truly is, thus opening herself to wholeness and peace.
