IDENTITY

Over the years I have battled with the question 'who am I?'. I hung out with different kinds of people hoping I would discover myself. I was looking for something to define me.

Being a lover of music, I wrote songs, sang, and performed all in search of seeking an identity. I worked hard at school, graduating with a first-class degree hoping it would give me an identity.

Finally, I started working but that still did not tell me who I was. I could go on and on, but I became exhausted, I could not keep at it anymore because the question of who I was kept coming up.

The trophies, certificates, the applauses, they did not give me answers. The emptiness and the void just could not go away!

This is a question to do with identity. Most of us identify with our nationality, race, colour, sexuality, educational level, status you name it. If all that is stripped from you, who are you? If your last name, your job, your money, your education is stripped away; who are you?

Do you remain confident to stand and say who it is you are?

The more I studied the bible, attended bible study sessions, spent time in prayer and watched Christian channels, the more I discovered the Lord Jesus Christ. Which in turn helped me discover myself. Some things did not make sense at all, well not until I started experiencing them at least.
