The First Crack

The first time I saw it; I thought it was my imagination.
Something small and dark in the corner of the kitchen. Still. Watching me.
But when I moved, it moved too.
Fast. Alive.
The apartment fell silent. No sounds from outside, no neighbors-only the faint hum of the light and the ticking of the clock.
Nothing else appeared. No movement. No sign.
Until I heard the sound on the wall.
A dry, muffled noise.
Like something small... crawling.
Now, up close, I see the paint is no longer smooth. There are tiny cracks.
And for a moment, I'm sure they just moved.

The Subtle and Psychological Horror

Every apartment makes strange noises.
Wood creaks with temperature changes, old pipes vibrate inside the walls, shadows dance as the lights flicker.

None of this should be a problem.

But what if one of those sounds isn't random?
What if, instead of the building settling with time, something is moving?
What if, when you close your eyes tonight, you feel something crawling on your skin?
