Journeys from Here to Eternity

Life is a never-ending highway of rush-hour, bumper-to-bumper journeys. We turn homeward to heal old wounds, bury our dead, or perhaps rediscover a lost friendship. We revisit our greatest victory and sweat through our most humiliating defeat. We hit the road on a quest for wisdom, to fulfill a dream, right a wrong, or explore the beckoning horizon. We agonize through grief and pain, maybe follow God's path to redeem the evil culture around us.

Some of life's journeys produce a pounding pulse and pumping adrenalin. Others are pursued with dread and dragging of feet. Occasionally, we stifle a yawn. Whatever your experiences, life is a journey of constant movement; sometimes slow and serene, sometimes a blinding blur. But always, movement.

The Bible is full of women and men who found life to be one journey after another. And their experiences point the way to bedrock beneath our daily shifting sands. He knows every pothole. He is eager to go with you where your road will lead, even if you have followed rabbit trails along the way. He is, after all, the God of Plan B.
