The very meaning of the word Upanishad highlights its purpose of creation. The word “upa” means “near” and the word “nishad” can be understood as “to sit down”. The sacred Upanishads are created as an extract of the mighty work of four Vedas with the one purpose of realising Aatmaa (the self) and Brahman (the Absolute Truth) and the relation between the two. One is Vibhu (omnipresent Almighty) and the other is Anu (fragmental part and parcel of that Almighty). One is the original fire and the other its mere reflection. The ultimate mission of Upanishad is to bring the reader towards that Absolute Truth, that unknown, that we all are looking for in our lives. It is sought after by scientists as the original cause of all causes, it is the beautiful mind behind this material and spiritual creation and it is the divine being hidden behind the veil of illusory energy called maya covering the eyes, mind and intelligence of all mortal beings. Reading Kenopanishad is an adventurous dive into the ocean of knowledge to seek the identity of that very Absolute Truth.
