"Look What I Can Do!" is a story inspired by my childhood. My name is Valerie Fleetwood. I have cerebral palsy. That means my brain and muscles work together differently. Moving and balancing can be tricky for me. My forearm crutches help me walk. There were so many things I wanted to try! Dad encouraged me. If one way did not work, I could try a different way. I went to Cotting School, a school for children with disabilities. My teachers helped me learn and discover ways to do things that worked for me. There were books to read, songs to sing, games to play, and things to make. I did not have to do everything the same way as everyone else.
