In a near-future America where every man, woman, and child serves, there are no civilians-everyone belongs and no one is left behind, even if they want to be. Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Smith has spent his life believing in that system. Once a celebrated war hero, the Homeland Guard reassigns him to Chillicothe, Ohio to take command of his hometown-a posting that should be routine.

It isn't.

Outgoing commander Colonel "Crazy Tom" Prescott-once the star quarterback in high school and Daniel's former classmate-refuses to step aside. What begins as a contested transfer quickly becomes something far more dangerous. With his authority challenged at every step, Daniel seeks allies without knowing who he can trust.

At the same time, his daughter Karen-a top cadet at The Ohio State Military University-prepares to embark on her own career. Driven, disciplined, and certain of her future, she believes her next year will be decisive.

She's right.

And when father and daughter come face-to-face with Crazy Tom, there will be no turning back.

MILITOPIA is a story about family, leadership, choices, and consequences. After thirty years of war, something has to give-and it may be the Smith family that gives everything.
