When Susanna Bowden left the Plymouth Brethren with her two youngest children, she never imagined how completely unprepared she was for life outside the sect, or the devastating effect it would have. Thirteen years later, her son, Seth, forbidden from rejoining the Brethren, has taken up Spiritualism, and to his sister's horror, something appears to have followed him from his Church to the flat they share. During her work as a security guard, Hannah briefly met paranormal investigator Malachi Hunter, and asks him for help.
