Have you ever thought about when Pharaoh resisted letting God's people go? It says in Exodus 3:19, But I know the king of Egypt will not let you go unless compelled by a mighty hand. Then in Exodus 4:21, it says, And the Lord said to Moses, When you go back to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the miracles that I have put in your power. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go. At first, I wondered if it was his fault because it does say that God hardened his heart so that he would not let the people go, but after more reading, from the burning bush, God spoke of two reasons for Pharaoh's resistance to Moses: the king's own stubborness and a supernatural hardening of the king's heart AFTER Pharaoh exercised his own defiance towards God. This reminds me of those who treat other's as if they do not belong here. Anyone and everyone on this earth is meant to be here, or they would not be. This book explains why God may have allowed this plague (COVID and other strains of COVID) to enter our world. Has he gotten our attention, or are you going to act as if this is just another thing that has happened? There are evil, crooked, wicked, racist, judgmental, and unfair people in this world. He is not pleased with us right now. He has allowed this plague to show up; it is invisible. You can't see it, smell it, or taste it, but it can touch you without you ever knowing exactly where you or your loved ones got it from. This has been so severe that millions of lives were lost within a few years of it entering our world. Have you lost anyone or know of someone who has passed away due to COVID or it's symptoms? Have you been forced out of a job because you were afraid to get it, or has your job been instantly shut down? Were you a person who scuffed at the homeless, walking past them and looking at them in disgust? Were you one who talked about others on welfare and then found yourself applying for government assistance? What part did you play in being arrogant or thinking you were above everyone else until you were knocked off your high horse? When did you realize that you could be on top one day and at the bottom the next? We all have a part to play in how we treat others. God only want's us to love each other, so it's best to learn from each other and respect each other's differences so we can live peacefully with each other. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. For those who read this, you may find yourselves in one of these chapters and if you do, I pray that you begin to work on becoming a better you, a softer you, a more gentle you. I pray that if you feel convicted, you will repent and be better. May God bless you.
