Humanity is winning. For the last 500 years, man-eating monsters called signum have plagued the world of Lokyer. Now, thanks to technological advancements and the rise of mages their numbers have dwindled. The most powerful mages can attempt to pass a test called the Crucible. If they succeed, they earn the title "Prestige" and are given a license granting them incredible privileges.

After the criminal organization, Penumbra, killed his mother and brother and left him to starve alone in the forest, Monty vowed to become a Prestige and avenge them. He is admitted into Constellation Academy's Prestige Program, dedicated to fostering the next wave of Prestiges.

It's PROM NIGHT! After laying their faults down in a line and with Henry's disappearance, Team Prism is enjoying their peacetime with Melody alongside them. But several questions still linger... Just what is the Dean plotting? What does Penumbra need from Monty? Everything is converging on the Azure Festival; a celebration of sea life to be turned into a night of despair!
