This book brings together thirty gay men including the author. These men were his friends and lovers at various points in time while Miles was living in Ithaca, New York, and New York City. It takes place in the gay party years of the 1970s and 1980s before AIDS hit. It is a fictionalized queer memoir based largely on real persons and events. It is a loosely chronological series of mainly autobiographical vignettes. The common threads are Miles's through viewpoint, his interest in queer sex and the extraordinary inner beauty of each man. Only Miles and the reader can comprehend the whole picture, the larger story of individual and communal maturation and self-discovery. Many of these men and the places they once occupied are no longer here today, but all were once at the center of Miles's life. Hopefully these shared stories will form a small piece of gay history that future generations of LGBTQ persons can embrace. This book is dedicated to the memory of all the good brave men and women who battled AIDS with grace.
