Conventional obturation techniques available for root canal treatment have two basic obturation procedures lateral condensation and warm vertical obturation techniques depending on canal anatomy and unique objectives of treatment. However conventional obturation techniques have passed the test of time and new techniques are required to fulfill the drawbacks including risk of vertical root fracture because of compaction forces,presence of voids, less ability to seal intracanal defects and lateral canals,time consuming,less homogeneous mass.
