Doctrine. The very word sounds dull and divorced from the practical problems of daily life. Worse yet, discussions of doctrine often degenerate into debate and division. Whole denominations have been formed because of a doctrinal issue.

Is doctrine practical? To the average person in the pew, doctrine is unrelated to daily life. In the Bible, doctrine is always practical. Doctrine and daily life go together like peanut and jelly, salt and pepper, and sand and beach.
