This book was written to help Physics students learn how to carry out systematic measurements in Physics. The experiments in this book require mostly the use of common and simple instruments which are readily available in most laboratories in developing countries. Most of the experiments in this book can be done in an ordinary classroom setting. The practical instructions for these experiments have been made short and written in simple language so that the students can readily understand them and hence carry out the experiments in the way they were intended. Diagrams and illustrations have been used to help students see how the apparatus are supposed to be set up. The experiments have deliberately been made to be short so that a student can complete one experiment in about a forty minutes period. It is important that students should first learn the important conventions required in carrying out experiments and of writing the experimental results before they carry out experiments. The guidelines given in this book outlines the important conventions and strategies of carrying out experiments.
