Not long ago, ghost stories were born over campfires or whispered to life on school playgrounds, but now they can travel from a glowing computer screen in a dark room to a phone an ocean away with one press of a button.

Juna Poe is a typical high school senior, busy counting the days until graduation and fighting with her mom. After an incident at school reveals her deepest secret, Juna turns to her sketchbook as an outlet. She never expects something monstrous to appear at the end of her pencil.

It would have amounted to nothing anywhere else, but the Appalachian mountains hold ancient magic. Oblivious, Juna goes about her everyday life: fixing the Wifi for the witch next door and not having a crush on her best friend, Callie.

But the Silverfish has been born. And it is watching.

Juna's ghost story might have stopped there--dying in a small town with an angry girl--but when her brother posts about the Silverfish online, people start to disappear. Now, Juna and her friends must turn to folk magic to fight a monster spawned in misty mountains and solidified on the dark web.
