The nights are getting longer. The temperature is dropping. And the cat has grown to the size of a minivan.

Maya Rao loves owning a haunted bookstore, but she hates the cold. Unfortunately, winter in Hollow's End brings more than just frostbite. It brings the Winter Solstice-the one night a year when the veil between the worlds is thinnest.

This year, something ancient has woken up in the mountains. Thirteen mischievous trolls known as the "Yule Lads" have descended on the town, stealing sausages, slamming doors, and framing Maya's cat, Barnaby, for their crimes.
