'Soon' is the powerful story of a little girl whose Dad deployed with the Australian Defence Force for over a year. In real life, the little girl in this story is author and illustrator, 13-year-old Jess Love. Writing of her own experience when she was seven, Jess hopes 'Soon' will help other Defence children cope when a parent is deployed by understanding what they are feeling is normal and to know they are not alone in these feelings. Jess also wants to acknowledge the sacrifices the children of Defence Families make so their parents may serve this great nation we call home.
