Steve Boyce's Cornelius Cone

Hello there, I'm Cornelius Cone and welcome to my top ten adventures right here in this book you're holding. Now I know what you're thinking, what's a traffic cone like Cornelius standing around talking to me for? Well I have a lot to say and not much room to say it in so let me start from the beginning.My authors Steve Boyce and John Roberts have joined together to create this introduction to my little village called Hythe which is based on the edge of the New Forest. If you haven't read any of my adventures yet, where have you been? As this is my top ten favourite adventures, I'd like to take you back to the start. Ah yes, the good old days with Steve and his colouring pencils. I was quite good looking in those days!! Join me in How It All Began and meet my friends Tricia Trolley, Mike Microwave, Bertie and Bella Bin and Trevor Traffic Light. After this I get swept away in a whirlwind of excitement! Well not really, on to Driver Dave's Maintenance Truck with my new friend Bennie Barrier to sort out a petrol spillage at the supermarket. A lot of strange things happen around there and I'm not just talking about the pickled onions either. Next we're off to France, ah, the beautiful Paris, but only briefly. When a young lady called Susie Suitcase leads me astray at the airport, all kinds of problems come along but I can always count on my good friend Postman Pete to get me out of a difficult situation.Then there's my friend in Bluebell Park, Bertie Bin. Oh how he makes me laugh. His gold medallion however caused all kinds of trouble. It's a shame it wasn't anything valuable but Bertie still wears it today.Next we have The Tale Of The Christmas Cone. Ah yes, I remember it well. A snowy Christmas Night, Santa being noisy on the yard roof and cuddles with Tricia Trolley... uh hum well I won't spoil that one too much. Now where were we? Ah yes, Pedro Pug. Mr Wallace's pet and my favourite dog. He's got so many hidden talents you know. Once, we were... well you'll see.Vicar Vincent, he was a naughty man. After trying to stop us from helping Postman Pete complete his Special Delivery, he tricked Bennie Barrier and I with a glass of water which shrunk us down so we were two inches tall and we had to fight our way through his Vegetable Garden and make it to his garden gate before the time ran out. It will be a long time before I go back to his church again.Who else can I introduce you to? Oh, of course, Checkout Charlie!! He's a man of many talents. With help from his brother he built a treehouse in the woods nearby to the supermarket. There's a secret rope ladder that we can use to go there. I might show it to you one day. In my local area I'm very well known and I have a lot of friends but my best friend is Bennie Barrier. We've been through so much together and I was so happy when we were able to give him a surprise birthday party. And finally, if you've read this far I'm very impressed, finally I would like to introduce you to my friend Harriet Horse. She lives in a little village called Beaulieu which is not far from Hythe. She entered into the cross country race although things didn't quite go to plan and I think I upset a certain French young lady.
