The rain in London didn't just fall; it haunted.

Albert Sterling stood at his workbench, the light of a single Edison bulb reflecting off the magnifying loupe strapped to his eye. In front of him lay the Blue Dragon, its facets shimmering with an unnatural, bioluminescent pulse.

"Is it ready, Albert?" a voice boomed from the shadows. Cold. Calculated. The Architect.

"It's a masterpiece," Albert whispered, his fingers trembling as he tightened a screw no larger than a grain of sand. "But it's too powerful. It doesn't just store data; it breathes it. It's not a machine, it's a mirror of the soul."

"I didn't pay for a mirror. I paid for a god," The Architect replied, stepping into the light.

Albert looked at the clock on the wall. It was 11:58 PM. He knew he wouldn't see 11:59. With a swift, practiced motion, he swapped the core of the diamond with a dummy and slid the real chip into the secret compartment of his daughter's birthday gift-a small, silver pocket watch.

He whispered to the empty room, "Find the rhythm, Diana. Follow the tick."
