The Borrowed Shore

A weather buoy is waiting where no tide could have left it.

Three months after the Halifax wake storm, the buoy appears high on a Cornish cliff carrying the same machine-only warning that reached Canada. Tessa Calder and Tess-two legally distinct survivors sharing one body-travel to Porth Ansel as witnesses, not investigators.

The town's residents are losing seconds of their own lives. They wake with memories of coastlines they have never seen, while a system called BREAKWATER prepares to renew during the next winter storm.

With local engineer Mae Penrose and a warning whose source may never be proved, they must separate protection from permission before twelve shores are made to pay.
