Somewhere between unbearable pain and unimaginable purpose, Victoria Abbott-Fleming found a reason to keep going.

Victoria's world was turned upside down following a life-changing accident that led to the rare and devastating condition Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Initially undiagnosed, the injury baffled a neverending parade of physiotherapists, GPs and consultants, who all believed they could heal the condition with rudimentary treatments. They all failed.

She endured years of relentless pain, trauma and isolation before CRPS ultimately caused her to become a double above-knee amputee. Unable to use prosthetic limbs because of the severity of her condition, she was forced to rebuild her life and rediscover who she was.

That darkness fuelled her determination.

Supported by her devoted husband, Michael, Victoria set herself an extraordinary goal: to learn everything she could about the little-known condition that had changed her life and to ensure others would never have to face it alone. Determined to raise awareness among healthcare professionals, patients, families and the wider public, she founded Burning Nights CRPS Support, a charity which has grown into a worldwide beacon of support and hope.
